memories

I spent yesterday and last night watching my daughter in her first band contest. I was sitting in the stands and listening to the drum cadence as the band took the feild. It sent a shiver up my spine and my mind raced back to all the times I marched on the feild in high school....I swear the butterflies started and I dont think I took a breath until the music started. I was sitting next to my Mom and Dad and now I know how they felt when they watched me and my sister. It is a mix of pride and sick to your stomach until it is over and then you are so happy you just can't even describe the feeling. I looked over at Mom/Gran and she had tears running down her checks, I guess memories don't have an age limit.

later that night PLD won Grand Champion, best music, best percussion, best visual. ( I remember that feeling as well!)

On another note my son has now moved to the dark side! he has gotten a job as an umpire. He has his first game on Tuesday. He is trying on all the equipement right now and looks so grown up. I can't believe in teo years he will be in college.

Dunbar Band takes the feild! The 2007-2008 Dunbar Band had it's first performance at the PLD/Scott county game on Sept. 7. when they marched on the field it took me back to when i marched for Tates creek many years ago. I am so glad my daughter is geeting to be part of the band at Dunbar high school. I pray she has as great an experience as I had.

She is playing cymbals and Synth in the Pit.

Yes my sister sent it but i got it on. This is labor day weekend my wonderful daughter, Kristina, my ham of a nephew, Daniel and beautiful niece, Reese were eating Popsicles. This is how we got Reese to stay in the kitchen!

I am now officially a Geek!

I tease my kids all the time about being geeks. they are always online and IMing thier friends. well I couldn't let them get ahead of me. so I creating this blog to stay 1 up on them.
also my cousins are always sending out pictures of thier cute babies and giving me a hard time about not sending out any pics of mine. well since my "baby" started High school this year and my "little boy" is getting his driver's liscense in 2 months I don't see them enough to get pictures.

I have decided that is not a good thing. I am going to get my little geeks to show my how to upload my pictures and then bombard you all with them!
